Evaluation

My biggest strength was how I recorded all of the shots accurately in order to produce smooth transitions in my final product. This allowed me to show that I could use the following effectively: Match on Action, 180 degree rule and the shot/reverse shot. I feel I could have made the clip better though due to the short conversation and lack of music at the start of the scene when one of the characters (Zac) walks into the room.

When my previous partner Will dropped Media which left me to start a-fresh, this allowed me to create a better product as I feel that the previous product that we were once creating was low quality. By working with Joe and Zac, I was able to produce a improved version of my final sequence as my previous one was not finished.

I never took GCSE Media when I was in High School. However, this Preliminary task has helped me learn about the four types of media language apart from editing. When I use to edit on my own during High School. I knew nothing about cinematography etc. But now after having an experience, I feel that I have developed many Media skills which can help me progress in the future.

Overall I feel that my product was a success and considering the obstacle I faced (dropping media), I feel that I did well and produced a good final product showing the 3 rules.

Audience Feedback

The feedback that I was given was fairly positive. They said I had made the clips look smooth (they fit together really well). However, my audience did not like how small the conversation was. They also believed that I could have made my clip better by adding some audio at the start of the scene. Overall, I think my Final Sequence was a success.

Filming Update 2

My previous partner Will dropped Media leaving me to do my Preliminary Task on my own. I thankfully however made friends with two people in my Media class. Joe and Zach. They helped me with my recording in order to get some complete footage that I could edit and complete the examples of 180 degree rule, shot/reverse shot and match on action.

Filming Update 1

Me and Will have synchronised the clips successfully and they look good. All we need to do now is record a conversation and show Will (person B) walking out the door. We have also added background music to fit the mood.

Will has now recently dropped Media and I cannot complete my preliminary task with him. However, 2 of my friends have offered to help me with the equipment and acting. Therefore i still should be able to complete my preliminary task.

Storyboard and Shooting Script

Decisions

Me and Will have decided to film at school for our Prelim task instead of outside school. This makes it quick and easily to be able to upload the content that we have recorded quickly onto the Macs. Also, me and Will feel a lot more comfortable filming in school than filming in public. We decided to do it in the Media room where we are currently working so we can upload quickly etc.
